Anti-kickback blades were developed a few years ago as a safer saw blade. They achieve "anti-kickback" by adding a cut depth limiting feature behind every tooth on the blade. This can bee seen in the accompanying picture of this set of blades.

By limiting the depth of cut allowed by each tooth, a sever kick back (where a tooth grabs deeply into a piece of wood) is eliminated. Since a kickback is the result of the wood piece contacting the blade in a non-normal cutting situation, whether they occur or not is heavily dependant upon the operator and how he operates the machine. These blades work to reduce and prevent kickback but the chance of one happening cannot be eliminated. No one should try to convince you differently.
