Router Plate Starting Pin

For free-hand bearing guided routing it is always best to use a safety starting pin. It allows the woodworker to rest the piece of wood against the pin and move the wood carefully into the cutter preventing it from being grabbed aggressively.

In place, this pin is 1" tall above the table with a 1/4" diameter pin fitting into the table.
