This is an excellent heirloom project full of fun features.

The Close and Carry Barbie House is nearly all wood.  

The built-in handle makes it easy to move around for play.   Afterwards it can be stored in a closet or on a dresser.   It opens into a spacious home then opens further with yard extensions to the left and right.  

Includes patterns for an ornamental fold-down bed with pillows, mirrored dresser, stool, armoire (that opens), ironing board (that folds down), stylish fireplace with double columns and routed wood appointments.  

Also a mantle, clock, framed picture, table, two lamps and a Vienna regulator clock accompany a pillow covered sofa.  

Barbie's pets are nearby.   Vine and floral works cover exterior walls with hummingbirds and butterflies.  

Stylish windows are bordered with shutters and a planter.   The fold-out extension features an apple tree, an arbor with gates and garden implements, fence, garden bench, potted plants, and a yard light.  

Easy to make singles top the roof.  

The open house spans 6 feet.   It all folds up into a compact case only 24" long, 16" deep and 18" high.   Most patterns are full size.   Photographs help visualize various steps.  

Doesn't have to be finished wood... you could paint and decorate too!
