It is recommended that you use 2 hangers for wall length up to 12 feet (over 12 feet, use 3 hangers to properly support the crown moulding).

Do-it-yourself Crown Moulding Installation Hanger
1. Measure wall where crown moulding will be installed
2. Cut crown moulding to length
3. Install Crown Moulding Hanger - use 2 hangers for wall length up to 12' (over 12 ' - use 3 hangers to properly support crown moulding)
4. Hangers should be placed so crown moulding is supported equally, for example using two hangers, place them 1/3 of the way in from each end.
5. Install a 1-1/4" roofing nail 1" from the ceiling leaving nail head 1/4" out from the wall.
6. Place hanger on nail
7. Place moulding on hanger
8. Loosen nut and tighten moulding to ceiling
9. Attach crown moulding using finishing nails or power nailer
10. When you are within two feet of the hanger remove the hanger
