When we visit the furniture store, we see many interesting ways of assembling knock down furniture.
One of the most common involves a special large diameter screw that's about 2" long. The coarse threads of the Connector Screw grip the core of composite board material much better than the standard #8 wood screw. These preferable Connector Screws require specially drilled holes to be able to use them.
Here's the drill bit you need to make those holes. This is a professional tool with a hardened tool steel counter sink and HSS drill bit. It has a standard 1/4" hex shank for positive drive. This is a drill bit you can buy with confidence.
