As woodworkers, we are handy people. So we get the "projects" the involve metal too and that always involves cutting. Unfortunately woodworking blades don't cut metal. The Handi Disc is your solution and I write this from personal experience. I've been using them for over 15 years.
The Handi Disc is a 7" diameter fiber disk impregnated with Silicon Carbide and Dimonal (a man-made diamond dust), then sprayed with a resin to keep it from flexing when making straight cuts. Unlike sandpaper, both sides may be used for sanding and grinding.
So what can it do? It's named "Handi Disc" for a reason. Used as a blade, it can cut through metal, tile, marble, slate, laminate, paneling, tubing, bricks, blocks and more. Used as a grinding disk it can shape and sculpt wood just about any material including wood, metal, tile and marble and it can even sharpen lawn mower blades, level off welds and remove slag from hot rolled steel.
The Handi Disc works best on a high speed drill (2000+ RPM)or hand held grinder. When cutting straight cuts it works great on a circular saw. The included booklet has tips on how to cut tiles, marble, slate, laminate, paneling, tubing, bricks and blocks. It cannot cut glass because the vibrations from the machinery will shatter the glass... but glass edges can be beveled.
The Handi Disc comes complete with instruction booklet and rubber pressure washers for use on hand held grinder or on the high speed drill arbor with fastening screw and front and back washers that is also included in the package. You can't go wrong buying a Handi Disc.
