This is one of the handiest and strongest hangers to use.
It's narrow
enough to be fastened to the edge of a 3/4" board as on the end gable
of a shelf assembly and it's thin enough that you don't need to
recess it if you don't want to. We've used it in our own production
of wood shelf supports where we've routed a recess for complete
invisibility... the choice is your's.
It can be fastened with two #6 screws but if you want extra fastening
strength, #8 screws fit too. It hooks best onto a #8 FH screw when no
recess is behind it but if you do have a recess behind it, a #8 FH
screw offers a better hold.
