The cast iron head stock, bed, tail stock and carriage absorb harmonic vibrations created when turning square stock to round.

The cast H-pattern carriage and integral cross slide move smoothly in both axis. Movement along the length of the dovetailed bed is by gear-reduced hand wheel while cross slide movement is by hand lever and screw.

The cross slide screw changes the relative position of the stylus to the cutting tool making it easy to increase or decrease the diameter of the turning as compared to the pattern being followed. When working without a pattern, the stylus can be locked, changing the cross slide from the lever controlled to screw controlled.

The head stock bore is a huge 1-7/8" allowing variety turning of dowel with a scroll chuck (not included). The tail stock boats 3-1/2" of travel and a #3 morse taper to handle the heaviest of turnings.

Swing: 9" over the carriage and 16" over the bed.

This machine is sold without motor or electrics. This allows you to choose and install the motor type that you prefer as a wood turner.
