High Point Re-saw Jig
This re-saw jig is an accessory to your existing band saw fence. When
fastened to your fence and positioned at the leading edge of the blade,
it lets you allow for blade drift while accurately guiding your wood
through your band saw on edge.
r
Resawing is a technique where you saw thicker material through the width
to produce thinner material. Besides creating thinner material, it also
creates a book matched or
mirrored effect when the newly cut pieces are opened and laid flat as a
book would be.
The High Point re-saw jig is 5-3/4” tall. When you install it on your
fence, the middle of the curved surface is aligned to the leading edge
of the blade. When you adjust your feed direction because of blade drift
(an effect caused after using the current blade for cutting curves
leaving it sharper to one side than the other) the distance from the
high point to the blades cutting edge doesn't change. The result is
uniform thickness re-sawing.
The High Point Jig is made from extruded and anodized aluminum. It
attaches to the T-slot in a Red Line, Accusquare or similar band saw
fence.
No T-slots? No problem! Drill 2 holes through your fence to pass 2 bolts through for mounting.
