Cabinet legs like these add a touch of style to what could otherwise be a simple box. They are easy to mount using a hanger bolt, double ended dowel screw or wood screws if the location is accessible from the inside of the cabinet.
Create something special... use legs made from 150 year old pine!
The pine we used to make these legs came out of an old building dated around the mid 1800's. These were the braces so they have fewer nail holes but they do have nail holes and because we pulled as many as we could, some holes are larger than others. Thank goodness those old nails are soft. We missed a few and our lathe cut them off clean. Details like this make these legs interesting. There's no need to fill these nail holes because they will make the table you build with them a conversation piece for many years.
A special note about the pine. Below is a comparison picture of the grain of new pine and that of these old pine legs. Notice how tight the grain is on the old pine. Something else not easily seen on a computer screen is the patina of the old pine. It's really quite amazing and it adds so much to the final colour of the table.
Note: Pine legs are very soft. It's not possible to pack them so perfectly to prevent bumps and dings caused by delivery companies or the post office. All we can promise is we will do what we can to avoid these bumps and ask that you accept this possibility as part of the risk of shipping pine legs.
