A drill press can be a dangerous machine if the drill bit should catch in an un-clamped piece of material being drilled. The material instantly becomes a propeller spinning at the speed of the drill arbor, whacking hand or finger(s) in the way. Even worse... if a piece of clothing gets caught by the whirling material, you can get "wrapped up in your work".

Reduce the chances of injury by properly clamping the work piece to the drill press table before starting to drill. This basic clamp can do just that in a quick fashion by being itself held to the drill press table in one of the many slots in the table top. Adjustment of the clamp is the same as that of a locking plier. A swivel clamp pad provides uniform grip on the material. This is a smart accessory for every drill press and it can be handy when used in conjunction with dog holes on work bench tops.
