BlackJack's 4-Way Panel Clamp
Download the PDF Manual
Gluing a wide panel can be challenging with pipe or bar clamps because of glue joint slippage and panel buckling. The BlackJack 4-Way Panel Clamp solves the problem by controlling the wood in all directions.

Kit includes black metal components. Wood beams are not included.

Make your own 1-1/2” x 1-1/2” wood beams any length you desire!

The lever action of the clamp heads applies even pressure to the face of the lumber while applying clamping pressure. No one-sided pressure. No buckling. No misalignment of lumber at the glue joint. A perfect joint every time.

The BlackJack 4-way Panel Clamp is ideal for gluing table tops, panels, doors and more.
Lumber up to 3-1/2” thick can be glued when the beams are made using 1-1/2” material. If you rarely glue panels exceeding 2-1/2” thick, use 2” material for the beams!
The capacity of the clamp is determined by the length of the beams you make. Just about any wood can be used but we recommend fine grain hardwood for longevity.

The clamp adjustment block (1) included in the package combined with the long clamp screw gives a clamping range of 12”. To explain, the clamp block can be fastened to a beam made for clamping 24” to 36” wide panels. By moving the clamp block to a longer beam, the capacity can be changed to 36” to 48”.
Additional clamp blocks (packaged in sets of two) are sold separately for the woodworker that wants to make a set of beams to cover all panel widths. For example, one clamp package plus one package of blocks can be used to make 12 to 24, 24 to 36 and 36 to 48 beams or any three width ranges used regularly.

Clamp blocks can be ordered separately here.
Spacing between clamps can be farther than you are used to because the clamping pressure is balanced. We recommend no farther apart than 18”. If you feel this is too far, add pipe or bar clamps in the space between.
