Live Edge Basswood Boards

Bring the rustic beauty of nature into your next project with our live edge basswood boards. Each piece is planed on both sides to a smooth, ready-to-sand and finish surface while preserving the natural bark edge that gives it authentic, organic character.

Basswood is a naturally white wood with a fine, soft texture, yet it belongs to the hardwood family—making it both lightweight and easy to work with. Every board is at least 7/8" thick, though most are thicker, giving you solid material for carving, furniture accents, or rustic decor.

Because these boards are milled true to the tree, width may taper along the length. The width measurement is taken inside the bark and represents the average width throughout the board. As with all live edge lumber, the wood continues to move over time. Slight cupping, end checking, or bark separation may occur, enhancing its natural character and uniqueness.

These boards create an ideal base for artistic expression. Their smooth surfaces make them perfect for laser engraving, pyrography, painting, and framing art. The absence of knots and fine grain of basswood lend to crisp, detailed engravings and clean paint application. Artists and crafters appreciate live edge basswood to create unique artwork.
