Metal Fittings
Metal dust collection fittings are generally considered better because they safely dissipate static electricity when grounded, reducing the risk of fire and explosion. They offer superior strength, resisting collapse and damage under high suction and provide smoother airflow with less resistance. This improves dust extraction efficiency.
Spiral crimped metal ducts are exceptionally durable and maintain a better seal over time. Unlike furnace fittings with snap together seams, spiral crimped seams improve strength and stiffness and eliminate air loss.
When connecting to machines, hose with metal spiral wire can be grounded to metal fittings by buying stripping back the end of the spiral wire and fastening to the metal fitting with a small metal screw. Click here to see PVC hose.
