Here's your chance to make a table on a budget.
The Pine Pedestal Table Post is sized perfectly for
use with table slides and mounting block. Although we turn many table legs in
our own woodworking shop, we did not make these ourselves. Our supplier had
difficulty with the grade of pine he received so we ended up with fewer posts
than ordered. These have several black knots but none are loose and I wouldn't
hesitate using them if I was building a table myself.
Regarding pedestal feet, most common is 14" in length. On 8" posts the
thickness is usually 2-1/4". 8" posts are limited to 48" wide
table tops so if you add 2 - 14" legs and a 8" post, you have 36"
across the feet.
Dimensions: Eight Sides (8" x 24-1/2" tall,
1-1/4" thick)
Note: this is a hollow turned post. A solid post this large could crack. Turnings this size are better to be hollow because of the natural expansion and contraction of wood
