1/4” Hex Shank
Plug cutters allow you cut your own flat head wooden plugs from the same wood as your project.
The resulting plug will have the same grain direction as your project wood. This also means the plug will react to stains and finishes like the rest of your project.
Each cutter is machined from high carbon steel. When taken to full depth in your wood, it produces a smooth rounded shoulder for easy insertion into the hole.
Powered by a drill press, cut into sacrificial material thicker than the plug's cutting depth. The plug will remain in the board for easy removal by prying with a screw driver or sawing with a band saw
(automatically eject plugs cut from 3/4" stock or thinner).
When using the plug, apply glue to the hole and insert the plug round shoulder down and with grain direction matching the grain around. Push to full depth or until plug remains slightly proud of the surface. After glue hardens, chisel or sand excess plug material until flush.
