Saddles are used to add an entrance point anywhere along a metal tube. They install easily and are less costly than a Y-fitting. This is why we don’t sell metal Y-fittings. As shown in the photo, they saddle against the tube. They can be held in place by various fastening methods. We found wire hose clamps to be the best method to hold them in place along with caulking to seal the connection.
An opening needs to be cut into the tube before installation. A jig saw with a metal cutting blade works very well. Just trace the required opening from inside the saddle, then remove the saddle and cut 1/4” larger than the mark to prevent catch points.
We offer same size saddles and reducing saddles for when the tube is larger than the required connection to a machine. A well designed system will always have a large feed tube from the dust collector with reducing saddles installed where a connection is needed.
Spiral tube not included.
