Originally designed for cut-thread wood screws, this all-in-one thread pilot, counter bore and counter sink drill bit is your next best friend for pre-drilling screw holes
To start, the high speed steel pilot bit is fully adjustable to match the length of screw you are drilling for. Next, the counter bore area of the bit is just long enough to relieve the tightness normally felt when installing screws with a smooth shank area between head and thread but not too long to pass through a 1/2" top board and remove wood unnecessarily from the joining board. Finally, the counter sink diameter is a good match to a #6 screw head.
When drilling, there's nothing worse than chuck slippage. This bit has that problem solved with its 1/4" hex shank, designed also to work with all quick-change chucks. How handy is that!
All in all, its an excellent all-in-one bit when you have multiple #6 wood screws to install.
