The prototype of this bed, made between 1790 and 1800, was especially popular in Virginia.  The handsome turnings of the posts and spindles will delight the wood turning enthusiast.  Each head post is shown turned in two sections in order to be handled by the average home lathe.  

Both twin and full size beds are shown.  
This 39" high design will prove to be a most rewarding project.
